To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Currie Crescent Community Centre

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a chronic lifelong progressive disease leading to an early death. It is a degenerative condition that affects many parts of the body's systems, including lungs and digestion. People with CF need to do twice daily physiotherapyand take a regime of medications along with other treatments. At Cystic Fibrosis Qld we support the person with CF as well as their family. We provide counselling, financial support, education and training to people affected by CF.

DAMEC - Drug and Alcohol Multicultural Education Centre

Odyssey House New South Wales was founded in 1977 by Sydney businessman, Walter McGrath, following the death of his son from a heroin overdose. From humble beginnings, Odyssey House NSW has since grown to become one of Australia’s largest and most successful rehabilitation services; over the past 40 years we have helped more than 35,000 people turn their lives around.

Today Odyssey House offers Community Programs and Residential Programs as well as the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) program.

Our Community Programs include Alcohol and other drug counselling, mental health services as well as family and parent support programs in locations across Sydney.

Our Residential Programs include withdrawal and residential rehabilitation programs, mental health programs, a Parent’s and Children’s Program and specialised group services, as well as numeracy and literacy education; family/relationship issues; domestic violence and other trauma, parental drug use; and physical and mental health problems.

Established in 2013, our goal is to provide opportunities to improve quality of life and encourage arts, health and well-being in creative ageing. Our primary activities focus on providing low-cost dance classes for the Parkinson’s community and beyond.We also provide training and professional development. For people living with Parkinson's disease, rigorous dance classes led by trained professional teaching artists are becoming internationally acknowledged as an important, beneficial, movement-based therapeutic intervention that is supported by published research.Partnerships and connections have been developed across the arts and health sectors and include the Queensland Ballet, DanceNorth, the Sydney Opera House,Sydney Dance Company, Belconnen Arts Centre, Ausdance, state Parkinson’s organisations, and leading neurologist.

Dandaragan Primary School

We are a small country school based in Dandaragan. 145km north of Perth. We have 59 students enrolled. We are committed to working hard and providing a loving and caring environment for our students. As we are in the country we do have to pay more for excursions, incursions, camps and interm swimming lessons as there is always a travel component added to the final price. Dandelions WA Inc

Whether it be through one of our Kindness Kits filled with toiletries, underwear, thongs, t-shirt, shorts and tracksuits or via a specific wish received from another like-minded not for profit charitable agency, community group or individual, our purpose is to provide what is needed for anyone impacted by homelessness, poverty, domestic/family violence, health issues, bushfire or drought, unemployment, etc. We have provided baby baths for a program assisting new mums in remote WA communities; back to school kits for over 6750 WA school children in January 2023; canvas shoes for indigenous cultural education; chainsaws for families impacted by the WA bushfires in early 2021 as well as a commercial washing machine for the fire station in Wooroloo; and thousands of kindness kits to individuals and families since inception in October 2020.

Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service Inc.

We provide emergency relief to people in the Dandenong Ranges in the form of food, foods vouchers, payment of essential bills, fuel vouchers, prescription medicine, advocacy, information and referrals. We get referrals from GP's Centrelink and job network agencies. People can also self refer.

The Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) is a 50 bed unit based at Dandenong Hospital that provides medium to long-term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation for people who have continuous and severe symptoms of mental illness.

Darwin Aboriginal Islander Women's Shelter - Outreach Service

DAIWS Outreach service provide safe and supporting accommodation to women and children escaping- fleeing Domestic/ Family & sexual violence. The Outreach service provide a continuality holistic wrap around case management service moving forward for women who have been accommodated in our shelters and support offered to the wider community. Clients are encouraged to participate in our tailored DFSV educational programs and their healing of trauma journey

If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.

 

Financial hardship

The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.

Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.

You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.

You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.

If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.

 

First Nations Australians

If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.

 

Children or young people experiencing hardship

Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.

The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
