Domestic and Family Violence

Help rebuild after the harm you can't see

Domestic and family violence is often unseen and can be a secondary impact of another emergency event. GIVIT data shows a more than tenfold increase in domestic and family violence requests in the 12 months following a disaster.

Australia has already experienced three natural disasters this year, and with more than half of all GIVIT requests for domestic and family violence-related hardship, we expect these numbers to escalate. Data also shows a spike in cases of domestic and family violence around public holidays or large sporting events.
