Wananami Remote Community School

Wananami Remote Community School is located on Mount Barnett Station in the spectacular Kimberley Region of Western Australia, approximately 500kms north of Broome. While Wananami is situated in the community of Kupungarri/Mount Barnett, it services three communities: Imintji, Kupungarri and Dodnun, all found along the iconic Gibb River Road. Students travel from Imintji and Dodnun by bus for up to an hour each way to and from school.

Our point of difference is that we offer individuals and small groups individualised support from skilled people because we know that the provision of technology , although fundamental, is not enough to help digitally excluded community members overcome the barriers to becoming digitally included.

Waranwarin Tharawal Child and Family Centre is a place where families can come together and feel like they belong. We are an Aboriginal centre that provides a range of services to help parents, carers and children, services include education through Waranwarin Early Learning Centre. Family support through our Family Programs and some health services with a focus on families and children.

Waratah Support Centre (South West Region) Inc

Waratah provides free services to individuals, families and communities across the south west region who are impacted by domestic violence and/or sexual abuse/assault. Our services include adult and children’s trauma-informed counselling, court support and therapeutic group work
Waratah also works alongside police and the Department of Communities to form the provides the Coordinated Response Service that works to address high risk cases of family and domestic violence. The primary prevention team at Waratah provides education in the community, in schools and with staff across many organisations, focussing on consent and healthy relationships.
Waratah’s. Clients are encouraged in a safe, supportive and confidential environment to make their own life decisions. Our staff are trauma-informed and work alongside clients to achieve their goals. We continue to campaign against violence in our community. We remain steadfast in calling out violence and abuse at all levels of our society.

Warriapendi Child and Parent Centre

Our centre is a place to:

come with children between 0 to 4 years of age,
participate in early learning playgroups, workshops, information sessions, community events and other activities.
Learn about what children need to grow up healthy and happy
find out about activities and services for families and children in the area. Prepare for a great transition to Kindy.
All programs and services are free. They meet interests of the families and encourage the children’s healthy development. We always focus on nurturing relationships between parents and children.

At our centre parents also find the information they need to be the best parents they can be. We work with other organisations to coordinate the services at the centre, or at surrounding schools when possible, making it easier for families to go to appointments.

A Child Health Nurse is at the centre every day to see children from birth to four years by appointment. A speech pathologist works at the centre part-time.
