To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

The Compassionate Friends QLD Inc
The Compassionate Friends is an international self-help support organisation for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents grieving the loss of a child. We offer friendship and understanding by reaching out to bereaved parents, to the surviving siblings and other family members to support them in the grief and trauma which follows the death of a child, through a range of support services and resources.
Bereaved parents and family members often find the need to talk to someone who has had an experience similar to their own and who truly understand. This allows many to draw comfort from the stories of other parents who have been there and learn from their accounts. All bereaved family members are welcome. The Compassionate Friends is non-denominational, it has no religious affiliation.
The Coonamble Women's Shed
The Women's shed is run by a small committee of volunteers. This was made to help support our community because of the great impact of the drought.
The women's Shed create a safe environment they promote healthy social connections. The women's shed is a place were you can go and enjoy a coffee do art and crafts, learn new skills or just relax and unwind. The women's shed has maintained an average 15-20 visitors and community members that use the facility on a daily basis

We provide education and psycho-social support for adolescents with chronic mental health conditions, with a goal of re-connecting them to mainstream education
The Courage Project
The Courage Project is a collaboration between Bravehearts and Mackay Women’s Service (MWS) to deliver a mental health service to disadvantaged and disengaged children and young people (under the age of 14) that have experienced trauma related issues. The Courage Project will provide therapeutic and advocacy supports to children and young people who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, physical and/or sexual assault and are at risk of self-harm. The service is available to clients residing in the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac Council Regions. The service will use evidence based, trauma informed approaches to support children and young people in their healing journey. The multidisciplinary team will work with children and young people individually as well as and their non-offending family members and support services.
The Courage Project is supported by funding from Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) through the Australian Government’s PHN Program.

The Crossing Land Education Trust
The Crossing is a Not-for-Profit, Environment Education Camp on the edge of farmland, river and forest near Bermagui NSW. It is a one class, permaculture designed sustainable camp built by thousands of volunteers over 21 years.

Camp facilities at The Crossing are unique and include a train carriage bunkhouse and solar passive straw and mud buildings, extensive productive gardens and off grid power and water systems.

The Flagstaff Group Ltd
The Flagstaff Group provides life skills and employment for people with a disability ensuring they can lead a positive and meaningful life, contributing to work and their community. As an NDIS trusted provider, Flagstaff offers a number of programs from literacy to cooking classes, learner driver training to employment preparation.
As an Australian Disability Enterprise, Flagstaff employes over 250 people with a disability in six different business units including a commercial laundry; Print, Digital and Mail; Paper to Paper recycling, Garden Maintenance, Engineering Services and Fine Foods frozen meals.
The Foster Share Shed Inc
The Foster Share Shed is a place where Foster Carers and children in care can get together with like-minded people, to discuss their care experiences and knowledge. It provides a safe and supportive environment and a platform to which children in care can meet and come together with other children in care.
The Foster Share Shed is a resource center receiving donations from the general public.
It is important that a child in care feels like they belong. Children typically come into care with nothing. They have no belongings, sense of security or ownership.
The Foster Share Shed provides a space for training, personal development, coffee mornings, children’s play dates, celebrations, targeted events and more.
The Foundry by SYC
The Foundry by SYC is our purpose-built youth wellbeing hub, where we create opportunities for young people to make sense of the world around them. We help young people realise their strengths, build a positive network of friendships and support, and gain the confidence to explore new pathways. Our open-access youth service model and dedicated youth engagement team empower young people to discover their passion, increase their wellbeing and connect with their communities. The majority of the young people who access our service have experienced housing insecurity and/or family breakdown.

The Gender Centre Inc
The Gender Centre is committed to developing and providing services and activities which enhance the ability of people with gender issues to make informed choices.
The Gender Centre is also committed to educating the public and providers about the needs of people with gender issues. We offer a wide range of services to people with gender issues, their partners, families and friends in New South Wales. For example, we provide a counselling service, a residential program, an exit-house program, case management, support groups, advocacy, outreach and many other forms of support. We also act as an education, support, training and referral / resource Centre to other Organizations and Service Providers. We specifically aim to provide a high quality service which acknowledges human rights and ensures respect and confidentiality.
The Generosity Collective Inc
The Generosity Collective is a newly established registered charity based in Mitcham Victoria and supports those facing hardship in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
With the support of our registered community, we curate Generosity Crisis Care Packs with people’s quality second hand and new items. We are building a mindful and generous community which allows us to bridge the gap between services currently provided for those in difficult circumstances. We partner with support agencies who assist individuals who may be fleeing domestic violence, in crisis accommodation, those who may be accessing residential and psychiatric support services, young mothers and baby programs and children in out of home care. We create individualised Generosity Crisis Packs which contain clothing and essential items for those individuals, then deliver them directly to our partner agencies, for them to distribute to their clients.
The Good Box
The Good Box is a non-for-profit social enterprise that creates beautifully packaged gift boxes for people experiencing homelessness in Australia. Our boxes are filled with new, high quality items and a handwritten note written by school students, volunteers and sponsors. As well as shipping these boxes Australia wide The Good Box facilitates engagement programs for schools and corporates with the aim to remove the stigma around homelessness, educate and connect.

To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.
To find relevant organisations in your area, use the search fields and filters above. Once you’ve input your filters, make sure you click ‘FIND AN ORGANISATION’ to find relevant organisations.
Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request a range of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your request for donated items or services will be met. We’d love to meet every request placed on GIVIT, but your request being filled is dependent on donation(s) being made by donor(s).

If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, please visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.

Domestic and family violence

If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.
Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.
Homelessness
If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you can find homeless shelters near you by searching on the Ask Izzy website.

Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
People living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
Refugees and asylum seekers
