Older gentleman impacted by the Kimberley Floods 2023

An older gentleman was seriously impacted by the Kimberley Floods in January 2023. He lost all of his belongings and his car and was displaced from his Community with other family members. He ended up living short term with relatives in town. He is now living in a Temporary accommodation unit on Community, which allows residents to return to country. He is looking forward to his home being ready to move into in the next few months. For cultural reasons his grandson will be moving in with him and he wants to make the house a home for his young grandson. They have been planning what furniture they would like for their forever home, and what plants they want in their garden. It has been a very exciting time for them and a very heartwarming experience to see them bonding over plans for the home and for their future together.
