Client experiencing homelessness, brain injury, chronic pain and life-threatening illness seeks safety and happiness

Client lives with the ongoing impacts of trauma and a range of physical and mental health issues including an acquired brain injury, cancer, severe anxiety and debilitating knee and ankle pain. Has had poor experiences with health, housing and other support services in part due to memory, mental health and communication barriers. Often feels that voice is not heard or is not believed which makes it hard to trust. Is vulnerable to abuse including harassment, contact with the justice system and has repeatedly had personal items of value stolen.

Feels happiest when able to live independently on own terms in a van that is trying to fix up so it can be parked somewhere safe and secure. Is struggling with the cost of specialist health services, medication and day to day living expenses and this is making it difficult to realise goal of being safe and happy in their van.
