Ongoing homelessness as a result of the 2022 Northern NSW floods
This request is for an elder of her local Aboriginal community who lost her home in the 2022 floods. She has experienced ongoing homelessness being moved to different accommodation including motels, caravan park and pods with no permanency in sight due to ongoing decisions regarding whether her home will be rebuilt or not.
She has finally found a small unit but has no household items of her own. She is a highly regarded member of her community and also the wider general community and 'looks out' for everyone else ahead of her own needs.
