Single mum, adult child, declining health (chronic/terminal) in very small unit lost all belongings in flood,

The applicant states that she was living in a unit in Lismore when the 2022 flood occurred. She states that the flood water came up to the ceiling and she lost everything. She moved out quickly into a new unit with her 19 year old son, and has gradually replaced most of the items she has lost. She is living on disability pension for mental health, but in the last two years has been struggling with an infection. She is currently on a medication drip, and frequently has to make visits to a doctor in the Gold Coast. Her physical health is declining, and she is in a very small one bedroom unit with her son. There is no A/C. and she is struggling with nausea, headaches and sleep as a result of the heat. She has no choice but to remain in the unit, since she is so unwell, and has reached out to as a last resort.
