Resident affected by the 2024 Western Victoria fires.
This lovely lady was directly fire impacted by the February 2024 fire events. They had a lot of fire damage in paddocks but because of CFA efforts, the house was saved with fire coming within some 20m of the home. They had many recurring flare ups requiring CFA assistance during and after the main fire events. Most of the recovery has been handled by the resident such as erecting fencing (lots more to do) and clearing dangerous trees. A new fire pump and stock water pipe had to be replaced as they were burnt. This resident is now reaching out for some financial support. They haven't sought support previously but have reached a point that she needs help with the cost of cleaning drinking water tanks and water replacement. The water was tainted by smoke and ash from the fire and was undrinkable.
