Elderly lady financial, physical health and psychological impact from Feb and Sep storms.
l am seeking support for this resident who has had a financial and psychological impact from the Feb 24 and Sep 24 storms living on a limited income receiving a pension.
This resident has had months dealing with insurance without success and the additional stress has impacted on her already compromised physical and mental health.
She lives with chronic health conditions and is now having additional health issues including nausea, loss of appetite, weight loss of 12 kg, sleeping issues which are being explored via her GP.
She had spoilage of two freezers (one full of meat she had just bulk bought) her washing machine stopped working so she purchased a cheap second-hand top loader which has increased her water bill to $400.
She is still trying to recuperate the financial losses due to the storm impact including debris clean up expenses.
Due to the impact from the Feb and Sep storms, now on windy/stormy days she shakes and hides in the bath or under the bed.
