Current issues with homelessness and unemployment had seen an increase in DFV in the community.
Due to the increase in homelessness and lack of employment in the Gympie region, there has been a significant increase in the amount of Domestic and Family Violence and poverty.
We are seeking assistance for consideration of food vouchers and fuel vouchers to assist families and ensure that the children are being fed.
Although many men and women leave the environment where the DFV is occurring, they then become marginalised further through lack of income to support their families, thus a need for food and fuel to provide transport to therapeutic services for the victims and the children and an assurance that school is attended is required.
