Help provide activities for people living in an acute mental health ward to support their recovery
This Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit supports people experiencing mental illness, to assist them on their recovery journey. The service's aim is to make a difference to the lives of their clients including their families and carers by providing a space filled with purposeful activity. Recovery is promoted through group programs, individualised mental health support and referrals for ongoing support in the community
COVID 19 significantly impacted mental health clients and reduced the resources available. As restrictions are now easing, this service is able to expand their programs with more diverse activities and recovery methods. They aim to use these methods to assist their clients in reaching their goals, enhance their psychosocial recovery and promote social and community inclusion.
They are currently seeking donations of items such as fidget toys, board games and puzzles, sporting equipment, art supplies and more to provide activities on the ward that will help facilitate recovery and create a sense of safety.
It takes considerable resources to support all of their clients, and with your support they can continue to make advances that allow them to better support their clients on their recovery journey.
You can help support this program by donating or FUNDING items in the list below.
