OFFICIAL DONATION CHANNEL OPEN – FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND FLOODING

GIVIT is coordinating donations and offers of assistance to help people affected by Far North Queensland and Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper

Online donation platform GIVIT is calling for donations of goods, services and funds for people
impacted by Far North Queensland Flooding and Ex Tropical Cyclone Jasper to be registered through
GIVIT.org.au, as part of the Queensland Flooding appeal.

GIVIT has partnered with the Queensland Government to manage donations of essential items for
the communities of Cairns, Port Douglas and other affected towns in the region.
GIVIT Queensland Manager Christina Spehr said uncoordinated donations can hamper services on
the ground.

“My first message is please do not take or send donations into impacted areas,” said Christina.

“Once floodwaters in Far North Queensland recede, road networks will be needed by essential
services. It is imperative to keep these transport routes clear, and not impede critical flood relief.”

“GIVIT works directly with councils, outreach teams, charities and community groups to identify
exactly what’s needed to make sure people get what they need, when they need it.”

without overwhelming charities and frontline services on the ground.”

Members of the public can donate through the GIVIT Queensland Flooding appeal with 100% of
publicly donated funds received by GIVIT being used to support affected communities.

Where possible, GIVIT uses donated funds to purchase items from local providers to support the
economic recovery of impacted regions.
