Our client is a mother of three, who lives alone with her two children, and has recently given to her third baby premature. Baby is currently in the NICU, where mum has been discharged and required to attend the hospital multiple times per day in support of baby’s care. The family have a lived experience of family and domestic violence, and financial strain where day-to-day living expenses are currently a challenge as mum has worked to re-build the family’s stability. The increased need for fuel, and periods of travel has resulted in further strain. Seeking support to assist this mother to attend the hospital with minimal additional stressors where possible, in support of both baby and mother’s recovery from the recent birth, until baby can be discharged home.
