Urgent material aid support through GIVIT for a mother and her 13-year-old daughter who are currently experiencing extreme hardship and safety concerns. The mother has no income, speaks no English, and currently has no access to financial resources. Her husband receives JobSeeker, but he controls the household finances and does not provide her with regular access to money. The family is experiencing significant financial hardship and has limited ability to access support systems or benefits. The mother and her daughter are currently sleeping on the floor in an informal living arrangement.
The daughter is also experiencing bullying at school, including recent incidents resulting in bruising on her chest. Both mother and daughter are highly vulnerable and require additional support to stabilise their safety and wellbeing. The husband has severe mental health challenges and has difficulty engaging with community services, which increases the family’s isolation.
