Support needed for a young boy with a disability.
GIVIT
We are currently supporting a young boy with a disability who experiences significant challenges with emotional regulation and communication. He is engaged with a multidisciplinary support team working alongside him and his family to build these skills; however, the demands of daily life remain substantial.His mother also lives with disability, and the combined impact of her own support needs and her son’s additional care requirements means she is unable to engage in paid employment and is experiencing ongoing financial hardship.
The child’s bed has recently broken, and his mother has been unable to replace it due to the additional financial pressures associated with the Christmas period and the commencement of the school year. She is seeking assistance to purchase a new bed and mattress to create a safe, calm sleeping environment for her son, particularly when he is feeling dysregulated. At present, he is sleeping in his mother’s bed, which is contributing to parental fatigue.
