Lost everything during the 2025 Mid North Coast Floods
2025 NSW Mid North Coast & Hunter Floods
We are seeking assistance for an elderly couple whose lives were completely upended by recent flooding. Their rented retirement unit was destroyed, and with it, all of their belongings. Without insurance, they were left with nothing.
Since the floods, they have been forced to move between temporary accommodations more than 20 times, causing immense physical and emotional strain. Both individuals have ongoing health concerns, and the lack of stability has significantly impacted their wellbeing.
They do have an aged care package in place, which has provided essential support items to help with daily living. While these supports are greatly appreciated and much needed, the package does not cover the replacement of personal belongings or household necessities lost in the disaster.
Only now, 6 months on, are they finally able to return to their unit, but they are faced with the overwhelming reality of having to replace everything required to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
