A single mother is caring full-time for her two children who both have significant disabilities, as well as her elderly mother who is living with dementia. Due to the children’s high and complex care needs, the mother has been forced to stop working.
The family has no informal support network and relies on NDIS-funded supports. The ongoing financial strain has left the mother struggling to keep up with rent and basic household expenses placing further strain on the family.
