Motivated trans young person, who is legally blind, unable to drive looking for a bike for transport and purpose!
This 17 year old has shown remarkable courage in the face of significant challenges. As a transgender youth, they have navigated the complexities of identity alongside homelessness, mental health struggles, and substance use. After completing a three-month AOD rehabilitation program, they moved into a residential facility for young people who experience homelessness and mental health. Committed to their recovery journey, they are making consistent, positive choices for their future. Being legally blind means they cannot obtain a driver’s license, making independent travel difficult. They are motivated to find healthy outlets that support their mental and physical wellbeing. Reliable transport would enable them to attend appointments, connect with their community, and pursue safe, active hobbies, thus increasing their confidence and independence.
