A refugee family seeking assistance in a moment a great challenge
GIVIT
A young family are experiencing extreme challenges as they recently found themselves homeless. Living in temporary accommodation in a caravan, their lack of English and support has seen them deeply isolated. Further, their boys (ages 5 and 7) have been diagnosed with autism, seeing them display extreme behaviours, are non-verbal and often breaking items within the home.
The family are unemployed and working with medical supports to try and assist their children, but as a result have extreme financial pressures, and are struggling with their own mental health.
The family are required to travel long distances to access healthcare and specialists interventions for their sons, an increasingly challenging process due to limited funds and English skills.
