Family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) were impacted by the rain and flooding event near Ingham. Their insurance company has declined their claim for water damage to windows and floors, claiming water entered the home due to it being of older design. This means they will have to cover repairs themselves and are already struggling to replace items that were lost.
The mum also had a car accident just after the flood and her car was written off. The cost of having to replace this has caused additional financial hardship and strain on the family.
