Help Save Christmas for Vulnerable Communities
Christmas can be a tough time for many, and it can be even harder when you're a member of a vulnerable community without the resources of the big city. Many from our area are trying to overcome considerable challenges, with widespread homelessness, unemployment, and mental health issues. Add to this the unsustainable costs of rent & basic living expenses, & our community is confronted with a joyless Christmas. Our neighbourhood Christmas event creates a space for whole community connectedness, sharing and the celebration of togetherness and community resilience. We are a neighbourhood of colour, but so often our light is dimmed by the stigma of crime, addiction and domestic and family violence. Often, the small gift the children receive at this event is the only present they open. We are seeking donations towards gifts, entertainment and sausage sizzle. Help us make Christmas a time of celebration for families facing adversity by donating & inspiring hope this festive season.
