Young family with five children recovering from the flood seeking assistance for Christmas
A young family was living in Lismore at the time of the flood and they lost everything they owned. The flood water rose to the height of the picture rails on the second story and they had to be evacuated off the roof. Since the flood the family have moved 14 times between emergency housing. They are now back in the house that flooded, there was no insurance on the home or its contents. The family have five children, 12, 11, 9, 6 and 10 months.
The mother is home caring for the baby and the family is trying to get by on a single income while they continue finishing their home. Their home is habitable but still requires a lot of work before it is finished. The family has been under severe financial hardship since the flood and the mother is feeling stressed about providing for the family for Christmas, she is seeking assistance for the family for gifts for the children and food for Christmas and with a new fridge for the family as the old one they were gifted is not keeping cold.
