I have a 29-year-old local Aboriginal single mother of one child who has recently secured a rental in the Tweed Heads are.
Client has been homeless since May 2024 and been in temporary accommodation for the past year, while trying to parent her son at the same time with schooling and the barriers around being in temporary accommodation.
Client had a rental in March 2024 which ended due to owners selling the property.
Client has managed to secure a full-time job at the start of this year in January.
Client has been working on her mental health and working towards securing a potential place for her and her son.
Client has faced some serious challenges and despite what she and her son have endured, the client has finally secured a place.
As client was in T/A for over a year, the client only has her personal belongings and her sons’ belongings.
Client is seeking support from the community to support in setting up her place for her and her son.
