Laptop

Refugee family fled from Syria during heightened political unrest. Mother escaped to Lebanon before settling in Australia with her immediate family but can’t escape the guilt of those she had to leave behind. She keeps active in her community and faith. She gave birth to her third child a few months ago and is adjusting to newborn life again. She is known within her close circles as being tech savvy and is relied upon by the community to do things. Her two older children are entering school as well so having a laptop is proving to be a necessity to help with their learning at home. She wanted to attend a digital computer program that would allow her to keep a refurbished laptop, but her baby is too young to leave so missed the opportunity. Relying on just parenting payment gives her no flexibility to save money as most is spent on the children and growing necessities. a laptop would allow her to access online education and training opportunities while caring for her baby.
