It's hard to carry clothes with you as a homeless young person, but impossible to stay warm without them!

Our Youth Refuges support young people ages 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness.
When people come into a youth refuge, it is likely that they have been sleeping rough for a while or just escaped a terrible situation.
When prioritising what to keep on you for survival, it is unlikely that a thicker jacket or an extra pair of socks makes the list.
This is why the young people we support have very limited, well used or inappropriate clothing by the time we start supporting them.
As I am sure you're aware, it's getting cold in Melbourne, and nobody feels the cold more strongly than a homeless young person with limited clothing.
