Recipient story

First Nations mum with brain injury needs help with housing supplies after being homeless for 4 years
First Nations Support
GIVIT
This First Nations mum with an acquired brain injury has recently been housed after experiencing four years of homelessness. Securing stable housing is a huge step forward in her healing and recovery, but she is starting from scratch and does not have the basic furniture needed to make her house feel like a home. Living with a brain injury presents daily challenges, and having a safe, comfortable, and functional environment is essential to support her wellbeing, stability, and independence. After years without secure housing, this transition can be overwhelming, and community support will help ease the burden. Assistance at this critical time will help her settle in, maintain her tenancy, and continue rebuilding her life with dignity and security.
